Campaign scoop

Paying tribute in an annoying way. Pringles takes an irritating walk down memory lane. In its latest social media campaign, Pringles celebrated the 40th anniversary of the launch of the Spectrum ZX. In this video, the “mind popping” snack brand wanted to show how the world was before NFTs and the Metaverse. Please watch it on mute or low volume. You’ll thank us later.

There is no such thing as too many bubbles. Well, in a recent commercial, Black Lively showed us that there can be too many bubbles, but not in a drink. The actress launched a health-conscious, frizzy, non-alcoholic drink, named Betty Buzz back in September 2021. Now, it launched a bubbly ad to match the drink.

Technology and retail go hand in hand

First Meta store. Meta, formerly known as Facebook, announced that they are planning to open its first brick-and-mortar store this month, in Burlingame, California. Moving from the Metaverse to a physical store might be just what the company needs to attract customers.

Technology brings magic. Technology adoption in the retail industry is increasing and this can have a major impact on the experience of shoppers. Robots, digital displays, and AR are just a few things that are currently entertaining shoppers in stores.

Retail Technology Show: Last week, some of the best tech-savvy people gathered at Olympia Exhibition Center in London for the Retail Technology Show. From 25 to 27 April, attendees were able to receive input from well-known speakers, such as Steven Bartlett (Dragon's Den), Mike Coupe (New Look), Ella Mills (Deliciously Ella), and Jeremy Schwartz (The Body Shop).

Trust the expert

Did your groceries arrive too quickly? Grocery delivery is a fairly recent service offered to customers. Podcast alert! Michael LeBlanc, a “veteran” retail expert shared the latest episode from the podcast Food Professor. This episode focuses on plant-based alternatives and the cost of these products.

The grocery list is pending

On-demand or in-store? The pandemic change the way we shop. Most people got used to delivered goods and it appears that on-demand groceries are still a thing. Sainsbury grocery on-demand brings in the same sales as that of two of its supermarkets. While at a small scale, Sainsbury is one of the most popular on-demand grocery options for people in the UK.

Trendy groceries. The results are in! Grocery Gazette took a closer look at the latest and most important trends in the grocery department. From HSFF to refillable products, discover what shoppers want when they go grocery shopping.

Money, money, money! Unfortunately, it’s more and more expensive to shop, no matter how and where. The latest research shows that grocery price inflation reaches the highest level in the last 11 years.

Life in plastic is not fantastic

Fruits and veggies without plastic. Tesco wants to get rid of plastic as soon as possible. The retailer is urging suppliers to remove plastic packaging from fruits and vegetables. Tesco has set a target of removing plastic from a total of 5 billion products sold by 2025.

Bye, bye, plastic bags. Another retailer that understood what customers want and what the planet needs is Aldi. The retailer is planning to remove plastic bags from its stores by 2023. With this simple change, Aldi will be able to remove 4,400 tons of plastic from circulation every year.
